Many Ant...
Many Anthropologists have argued that the main reason language developed was so that early humans could actually communicate with one another about someone else, and thus gain an advantage over said person. Basically the theory is that we have language because of gossip. Unfortunately, humans have further complicated this biological function through the development of Live Journals, Instant Messenger, A self indulgent culture of "I", Contraceptives that allow for more sex partners and most importantly, alcohol. Consequently, modern man is in a situation much like my weekend, overloaded. The question I am left with is: was all this stuff really a result of nature(that is biology) or would people prefer to nurture it in themselves? Anyways I woke up Sunday morning and made a gigantic flow chart, and realized how insanely interconnected all the gay men are in Davis. It is on my wall, you can come by and add names and lines if you want. All that said, There were many fantastic highlights this weekend; Wini's "we bang" costume, "Peeps" at spike n mikes, getting to know Lisa Lee, The KDVS dance party, getting Boaba(spelling) with Bob, shopping with Amie and Jordan for my "9 Iron" costume, making a costume change at robs for the funk party(my costume was kind of a color coordinated cokehead), and the general drunken comradery of everyone around me. I’ve been told I fell over a few times. Which would explain the bruises on my arms. oh shit...I'm enrolled in school, i probably should try ot study

steven fall while drunk??? no...what do you mean "interconnected"? like they know each other or like they KNOW each other?Boba is great (sp? heh)[+++] bond party[++] kdvs shindig
Just to add to your first paragraph about contraceptives causing more sexual partners Steven you forgot that the feminist movement has a significant role in the downfall of morals in today's society. Woman suddenly want to be men and fuck like men.... we really should have just stayed in the kitchen..Yeah what other girl has the balls to say that....On another note...what in the hell is Boaba or Boba or whatever in the hell you and Bob had or did the other night.......I forgot to ask himLater Gator,Amanda
I mean that by knowing each other the inevitably get to KNOW each other...not always, but most of the time...
Boaba or boba is this fantastic tapioca drink, that is insanley addictive and expensive.I don't think femmenism caused the downfall of morals, if there really has been such a thing. Its entirely possible people could be just as immoral now as they were 60 years ago, they just talk about it more these days...I mean, don't you recall how popular the milkman business was in the 40's and 50's? steven.
Ha oh the milkman.....you also forgot about the mailman....seriously though I firmly believe that woman are to blame for the downfall of our country...well not the actual downfall but the loss of morality....I am just saying they are the ones who started burning bras, and having more sex because suddenly they were liberated..I really am the anti-feminist.....Bob just told me to "Get Back In The Kitchen" and I reply "GLADLY"On another note your ass needs to get out of the shower so we all can go to lunch-Amanda
Women have been the downfall? leave it to you to buy into the whole apple/eden argument...Hey, men invented the atom bomb, the cold war, and the Bush Adminsitration...well I guess we can also thank women for the Bush admistration because that hag Katherine Harris was (as far as i can tell) a woman...The House of Saud is on line one for you...shoud I put them through? (j/k)
ok WHOA.First of all, morals haven't been "lost" they've just been changed. I mean, is it more moral to just think of women as sexual objects and as inferior to men? No, it's not.And wow Amanda, I'm surprised to hear this from you... you are always so much more liberal than that.btw, *is huge feminist*
Eh my friend Richard once made this argument to me and I agreed, he had a ton of research done...it was a really interesting piece he wrote for a government class...I don't know I guess I just always kinda thought it sounded pretty true..hmmm go figure
No seriously think about it. There once was a time when sex was something sacred and somewhat taboo, everytime that you turned on the television or radio you weren't bombarded with sex...Women were the one's to basically say "I want to have sex and talk about it too, the way men do" (sidenote that rhymed) They brought it to the forefront..so maybe while I am not an "anti feminist" as previously stated...I think I more miss the idea of men treating me with respect, holding doors open, giving up their seats of buses etc, and not having everything be about sex. I worry about my unborn kids growing up in a society so dominated by sex...I worry about them getting diseases and never really knowing what true intimacy is.....That or maybe I am sick of changing the radio every 5 secs when something about sex is mentioned when I take the kids I nanny for to school every morning...either way
